Autism is Actually Fabulous!

Hi again everyone. Wow, it seems like I've make so many post that connected about the psychology. Well of course, I'm a psychologist wanna be, so that's why I try to tell all of you reader more about psychology. Well, maybe not all, but some certain things that you need to know.

Okay, let us start. Today we will talk a little about autism. You know what happened when people just texting all day even they have another person beside them? And also just how do you really hate for someone that walking while texting? Maybe almost all of you called it as a new kind of zombie.

Yeah that's what you did and also when you're driving, you still texting. This is a really big problem of course. But did you know that there's an interesting 'name' for those who always in their phone if in Indonesia?

You know, when BlackBerry showed up in Indonesia, we're introduced with a new thing than text called BBM. And with that BBM, we Indonesian buy the BlackBerry for only chatting with peoples. Suddenly there's booming everywhere about this BBM. At that time, I haven't have a BlackBerry yet, but everyone around me always ask me, "Hey, what's your PIN?" I don't have a PIN, I have a number.

Even when my dad gave me a BlackBerry, I never interested to this BBM. It's still like alien to me. I mean, if you still can text, why you need to do some chat with BBM? But people just told me, "If you don't use your BBM, you don't use your BB (BlackBerry) fully." Uuuuum, I use my BlackBerry only for keeping track with my schedule, and you said I never used my BlackBerry fully?

Let's get back to our discussion. So, when BBM is very booming everywhere, those who always BBM and not paying attention with what we talk about when we're actually beside them, called as an 'AUTISM'. Yeah, they literally named them like that. Just look at your BlackBerry, you would be called autism, just look at your text, they call you autism, just do everything with your BlackBerry, they will named you AUTISM.

Do those who called people like that now what autism is? I prefer being called as a zombie rather than an autism. But then, why do I said that in this title, Autism is actually fabulous?

Recently, I watched a movie, recommendation from my teacher in Abnormal Psychology class. This movie titled, 'Ocean Heaven'. It's a story about a single father, who have a 21-years old son who have an autism. The single father have a liver cancer, he doesn't have any more time. In this movie, you will see the struggle of the single father who tried to make his son, who have an autism, become independent. The father train him so that he can work, cook by himself, even do everything simple, yet hard for those who have autism. After I watch it, I really recommend to you too, to watch it. It's worth your time.

In the movie, the father said this, "Autism is not that bad. They live in the world that they don't have to worry about everything". In this movie, you also can really feel the autism of a man who is already 21-years old. 

I'm actually interested with kids who have autism, because the fact is that, they're smart in some ways, and yes they lack of something, but so do we. The difference is, if we failed at something, we will feel stress, down, sad. However for kids who have autism, if they can't do it, it's okay, they still can have fun with it. I really recommend this movie, go and watch it, you will be touched by the fact about autism.
